Shambhala Training: Levels 3-5
Warrior in the World, Awakened Heart & Open Sky
Continuing the Journey
Of Mindfulness and Awareness
Immerse yourself in this in-person retreat as we continue the Shambhala Training series. Enjoy the tranquil beauty of Karmê Chöling. This is an ideal setting for our intimate gathering where we will have shared meditation, insightful discussions, communal meals, and leisurely moments that foster connections of the heart and spirit.
Warrior in the World
Engaging in the World Directly
Warrior in the world is awakening to the immediacy and brilliance of our sense perceptions. Through direct perception we can engage in the world with a confidence that is open and vulnerable to what we experience. By intimately engaging with our perceptions we become fearless, gentle and alive!
Bringing the mindfulness and awareness developed in our meditation sessions "off the cushion" we take it into our everyday life. When we learn to integrate our sense perceptions into daily activities we develop a passion for the phenomenal world. Our genuine confidence, humour and personal dignity comes forth.
Awakened Heart
Extending Fully to Others with Kindness
In this level, we discover that through opening our hearts, we are able to connect more deeply with the world. By trusting in our innate goodness and being willing to experience the sharp edges of reality, we can increasingly expand our capacity to communicate genuinely with others.
Rather than using our experiences to fall back into old habits, we can use them as reminders to further wake up and open. When we approach our life in this open and inquisitive way, we are letting it touch our heart. And in return our heart is awakened and responds to that touch.
In this level we will expand our meditation practice further, exploring real techniques for how to be even more present, with more care and curiosity, to both ourselves and others.
Open Sky
Finding the Clear Open Sky of Mind
In this level, we continue to expand our awareness, finding the open clear sky of mind – a delightful source of wisdom and uplifted energy. As our awareness is sharpened, and through trusting our nature, we can let go into the present moment.
Immersive Meditation Training
When we allow ourselves the time and space to fully engage in meditation practice, we discover our ability to experience and settle into the present moment. It is through extended practice sessions that we are able to open and relax with who we are, where we are.
Each of the Shambhala Training levels offers a subtle but powerful variation on the basic meditation technique. These empower us with a full range of mindfulness-awareness practices that guide us and give us tools for our journey.
Through these meditation techniques we uncover qualities that we all seek; our inherent dignity, kindness to ourselves and others, confidence in and the ability to - open and engage fully with our life.
