The road to the 2024 Election

The election season has already been a journey with many twists and turns, full of surprises and challenges. We live in a complex time with rapid change, political and social division, financial uncertainties and environmental concerns. With the constant bombardment of the media calling out our differences, any sense of sanity or inner peace that we might have is challenged.

Avoiding the election is not helpful

Ignoring the turmoil provides only temporary relief and no lasting solution. Many times the frustration is in not knowing what to make of the messaging, how to respond to it or how to make a difference with it. The drama and divisiveness of journalistic commentary makes it difficult to understand what "true" reality is. Every side seems to have its own version.

Navigating through the election

To help navigate this upcoming election, Karmê Chöling is offering a calm and respectful space to come together as a community. This will be a safe environment where we can reflect, think clearly, and engage in meaningful conversation. During this transitional time let’s examine our thoughts and habitual reactions, and explore how we want to show up on the other side of the election. 

With openness and warmth let’s be fully present with each other as human beings

There are two options for this shared time together:

• November 1 - 10: Finding Harmony!: Join Us for the full 10 days before, during and after the election.
• November 6 - 10: What's next?- Join us for 4 days post-election.

We are not avoiding the news

Instead we are offering a space to meet the events of our times, together, in a way that is supportive and invites a sane approach to the elections.

We will be supported by a schedule of:

• Meditation practice
• Contemplation
• Discussion & Sharing
• Body Movement
• Relaxation

Our time together will also include meditation instruction, and time to enjoy the natural beauty of the land.

Nurtured by silence & stillness and cradled in community

This will be a time to recalibrate and connect with our inner strength. Touching into our innate wisdom and compassion we will discover our own inner compass.

You're Encouraged to Vote

Even in offering this retreat amid a noisy November, we still encourage all participants to vote in the election before arriving. Check your local municipality for voting by absentee ballot if needed.
